Contract type - Permanent, part time (15 hours per week)
Salary - £22,221 per annum pro rata

We are looking for a creative and engaging Participation Worker to lead our Stockport Youth Offending Participation Service. You will work in venues provided by Stockport YOS in Stockport.You will be a self-starter with experience of how to effectively engage children and young people in participation activities giving them a voice to inform policy and practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Coram Voice as our new Stockport YOS Participation Worker. We are looking for a dynamic team player who will take a key role in developing and delivering Coram Voice’s participation service.
Our Participation Worker will use their exceptional interpersonal skills and specialist expertise to enable young people to participate in the delivery and development of services that they receive.
Our new Participation Worker will be joining a highly committed and well supported national team who are working together to champion the rights of children and young people.
- To set up, develop and deliver the Stockport YOS Participation programme for and with young offenders:
- Ensuring that the views and experiences of young offenders are used to inform policy and practice for the future.
- Planning and organising monthly participation activities and meetings with young people
- Consulting with Stockport YOS team officers and members on issues relating to children and young people
- Promoting the group and ensuring a consistent ongoing number of participants
- Supervision of mentors
- Recruitment and training of volunteers
- Attending a variety of meetings ensuing children and young people have a voice.
