2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Voices, the creative writing competition for children and young people who are care experienced. Since Coram Voice launched the competition in 2016 we have received over 1,500 entries.
The poems, stories, songs and raps reflect diverse experiences of care, including foster care, residential care, youth justice settings, kinship care, and adoption. We have also platformed the voices of unaccompanied children and young people seeking asylum in the UK, organising a special category for their entries in 2017.
Voices offers young people a powerful platform to share their stories, express their creativity and have their voices heard.
This year we want to celebrate all of the writers who have taken part in Voices over the last 10 years.
And we want to hear from you! Were you a young writer who entered Voices in the past? What difference did it make to see your words published, or to perform you work at one of our Voices events?
