A National Voice Awards

ANV Awards are an opportunity to champion and recognise the incredible work of children in care councils, care leaver forums, and other participation groups within children’s social care across England.

A safe space for black care-experienced young men to come together, offer each other support with shared issues and to discuss aspirations for the future.

Young people created a performance piece to express their experience of care and to highlight to workers the importance of listening to youth voice on care-related matters.

Young Asylum Seekers worked with the Participation Team and NHS colleagues to co-produce a video that gives information and raises awareness about the ‘Initial Health Assessment.’

Young people co-produced videos to share their experiences of care with adults, which was later recognised as a major positive in Barnet by Ofsted.

The Children in Care Council designed, developed and filmed a library of resources focused on mental health, to help other children in care.

York’s Care Leaver Forum reviewed and improved the Local Offer which now has a more bespoke approach that better meets individual needs.

Worcestershire’s Children in Care Council and Care Leaver Forum coproduced a training called “Putting Participation on the Map”.

Total Respect is an award-winning training programme which is designed and delivered by care experienced young people. It aims to improve awareness and empathy of the care system.
