What?
Show Me That I Matter Active is a group in York that brings care-experienced young people together through fun and inclusive activities that build confidence, connection and well-being.
What difference did it make?
Meeting once a month, the group offers a safe space to relax, socialise and make friends. Through games, sports and creative activities, members strengthen relationships with staff and each other while enjoying the chance to simply be themselves.
For some young people, it is also a special opportunity to see family members and reconnect with familiar faces. The group’s caring and light-hearted atmosphere shows how simple, positive activities can make a real difference to young people’s confidence, happiness and sense of belonging.
This case study was shortlisted for the Digital Award at the A National Voice Awards 2025, and came in 3rd place.
