Nominated for their unique cookbook, helping care-experienced young people in Sunderland transition to independent living. The cookbook offers easy recipes, practical tips, and includes starter kits with kitchen essentials, empowering young people with life skills and confidence.
Participation Award
Our Voice Listen Up
Nominated for reviving an annual awards event after the pandemic. The group, from North East Lincolnshire, handled all aspects of planning and hosted the event, creating lasting memories and special recognition for a long-serving carer. Their initiative and commitment made the event a success, and is now a yearly tradition.
Collaboration Award
Children in Care Council & Young Inspectors
Nominated for their work ensuring the Promise to Children in Care is upheld in Peterborough. They created training materials, posters, and a welcome booklet to improve the experience of young people entering care. Their initiative promotes collaboration and accountability, ensuring the Promise is actively followed at all levels.
Digital Award
Stand up Speak up Young Asylum Seekers
Nominated for their Initial Health Assessment project in Devon. They co-created a video with the NHS to ease anxieties for new arrivals, translating it into 9 languages. The video is now widely shared, helping asylum seekers feel informed and supported during health assessments.
Voice Award
Members of Kent’s OCYPC, OCYPC Extra & YAC Children in Care Councils
Nominated for creating a short film to raise awareness about listening to young people. The film is used in training sessions across Kent County Council and NHS services, empowering young people to ensure their voices are heard. Their work has had a lasting impact on care professionals and peers.
