“It’s been wonderful. The young person was reluctant to go in to crowds or in to town, always went to the same place for food and always wanted to go to the cinema. The IV encouraged her to come to a Christmas concert with her in December and it was a great success.
“They are still speaking about it and will remember it for the rest of their life. It has helped them grow in confidence and be more willing to try new things.“

Coram Voice provides volunteer Independent visitors (IVs) for children and young people across England.
What are Independent Visitors?
Many looked after children would like to have an adult in their lives who is not paid to be there like their social worker or foster carer and that’s where an Independent Visitor can help.
They provide a good, stable, adult role model for the young person. They visit the young person monthly and they befriend and listen to the young person share their interests and hobbies.
