Voices Writing Competition

Voices is our creative writing competition for children in care and care leavers who are 25 or under.

The competition is now closed for 2020. The entrants will be contacted by 1 March, if they have been shortlisted.

Voices is a celebration of the creativity, talent and imagination of Looked After Children and Care Leavers. The competition gives young people the chance to tell people what you want to say about their experiences.

Every year, young people write inspiring stories, poems, raps, and articles, hoping to be shortlisted for our awards ceremony in the spring.

The theme for Voices 2020 is ‘Dreams‘.

You could write about a dream you’ve had in the past, what your hopes and dreams are for the future… or anything you can imagine. We are excited to see what you’ll come up with!

Prizes will be awarded to the 24 shortlisted candidates.

  • The winner will receive £100 Love-to-Shop voucher.
  • Second place will receive a £50 Love-to-Shop voucher.
  • Third place will receive a £25 Love-to-Shop voucher.
  • The shortlisted candidates will receive a book voucher.

Further prizes and awards may be announced during the competition.

The rules can be found in our Voices T&Cs.
